OOTD

OOTD

Today it turned cold again suddenly. I am sure everyone can guess my feelings regarding the weather. I wanted to stick up what we decided on as a team (Sammy and me) this morning to wear. Really nice and warm Gap pullover with Carters lined pants. We really got our money out of the lined pants this year. They are lovely. Not too warm but give a little layer to block extra wind. I love the pop of red this Zara jacket gives. Monkey socks for my little monkey. Ours are getting a bit off white so they will be retired soon. Stride Rite boots. The red laces always look great and the height gives his ankles a little more insulation. All in all he can play inside and be comfy and then take it outside and be warm. Happy Tuesday!

Spring Outfit Idea Thursday

Spring Outfit Idea Thursday

I love jeans for this weather. Colder in the mornings and really nice during the day. I try to find a darker wash - I just think they set off outfits well. (Mom tip wash them inside out on cold to maintain the color).
Boden has amazing shirts. They are true hand me down quality and the whimsical details are just great. They are truly a place where you are spending more money but the pieces are worth it. I love a short sleeved shirt because Sammy loves to run and play. Plus getting his sleeves all straightened out in the hoodie is zero fun.
I love a hoodie/sweatshirt for this weather. He can take it off if he gets too warm and they really add something special to each outfit. I love this one from Boden. It reminds me of Harry Potter.
For shoes in this weather I really like something he can squish in some mud. These stride rite boots are nice because they can be washed but they also are water resistant if he gets in some soggy ground after a good rain.
Hope this idea helps. Boys clothing can be just so much fun if you look for the extra special details and have fun with your choices!

Week of Clothing Wednesday!

Week of Clothing Wednesday!

Monday- Just a fun Gap shirt to start off the week.
Tuesday- Layers. It snowed. Seriously is it ever going to get nicer out?
Wednesday- I have been doing a ton of button downs lately with Sammy. They look nice and are very fun for Spring.
Thursday- Fun Tea shirt and jeans. I need a new pair of jeans for him. Bodens are now too small.
Friday- Fun stripes from Carters and a nice jacket with some denim.

Week of Clothing Wednesday!

Week of Clothing Wednesday!

Monday- I wanted his outfit to be a bit more formal for school that day. Monday getting back into the groove of things.
Tuesday- I LOVE this shirt from Tea. I just cannot get enough of it. The color is perfection and it is really unexpected.
Wednesday- Layers. Its is 40 today. I feel freedom for the first time in a long time.
Thursday- Just a nice hooded long sleeved shirt and some khakis. Red chucks to kick it up a notch.
Friday- Funny graphic  tee and Gap jeans. Red chucks and praying for more Spring weather.

The weather is better so we're using more chucks. I have black pair for Spring and want to get a high top pair of blue ones. We'll see. Also on the horizon are some amazing mocs and some more Gap jeans. Cannot wait for Spring and Sammy. He is ready to picnic and have a blast.
The Gap jeans have proven to be a great investment. We have some in mustard and they go so well with a lot of outfits. They also fit well and look nice and still have room to grow. They are well worth the investment.
Happy Wednesday. (Does anyone else HATE the expression Happy Hump Day?!)

Week of Clothing Wednesday!

Week of Clothing Wednesday!

Monday- Carters camo pants. You know the drill. I sometimes put babylegs in his lower legs to add a bit more warmth. Sometimes he gets warm at school so I like to give him something he can adjust the temp with.
Tuesday- A bit of fun. I am in love with these Boden shirts. The hoodie reminds me of my lovely sister who is a huge Harry Potter fan.
Wednesday- Today I kind of upped my game. A cool plaid dress shirt under a nice vest. Both are from Target last year, I did a bit of preseason shopping last year. Just some nice chino type pants that are cut so he can run.
Thursday- Just jeans and a nice sweater.
Friday- I love this awesome saturated mustard sweater with some darker jeans from Boden.
Shoeswise... We've been trying to wear out the red converse. Sammy has a black pair for the next size run and I am really sad to see these pups go soon. Maybe something cool to take their place?!

I have been so super sick lately. Sammy has remained well- which means I probably got it from him. I've been trying to keep up with everything but have been giving myself some time off here and there. I've really needed to rest and recover from all of the germs. I am probably going to take it easy until tomorrow at the least.
I am going to organize Sammy's closet and try to post a little video of it. Just for something new and exciting. Hope everyone is staying well in this weather. Snow again. Polar Vortex.

Week of Clothing Wednesday!

Week of Clothing Wednesday!

Monday- I am still pretty obsessed with this Gap sweater. Just some layering to help keep Sammy warm. Cute jeans. I wanted him to have special outfit for a dreary Monday. Sadly those hunter boots are a pipe dream.  They're $50 which is pretty much going to be spent on other things. So... I can dream and put them here so you all can decide if they are worth the money. Which they are- just I have so many items on my wish list I have to make the cut somewhere.
Tuesday- We stayed home and Sammy stayed in his jammies! :) They were the super cute space ones from Carters. I know he was warm and snuggly because there was a LOT of couch time while we watched Milo & Otis on repeat.
Wednesday- Layers- always layers with this polar vortex crap. Kinda reminds me of El Nino when everything was blamed on that. So a nice Genuine Kids zip up over a cute shirt. He was bundled in a coat and hat with a scarf. Poor little dude probably could barely walk.
Thursday-Its cold. I have him in lined camo pants from Carters. He has a nice warm cotton tee on under his Genuine Kids sweater. This is pretty thick so he should be warm. The Boden shirts this year are really hilarious. They have this British Tee line that is just so perfect. Boden to me is the perfect amount of whimsy that I feel like boys can get away with!
Friday! OMG I cannot wait until Friday. Who is with me? Seriously longest week ever already. I am sticking him in some lined pants from Carters. I need a break from the grey sweater phase I am in! I will put him in a nice plaid (too bad I don't have that amazing one from Tea Collection yet) and a nice fleece vest. These from Carters are so cute. And they have nice pop of Aztec pattern which is working for me!

Week of Clothing Wednesday!

Week of Clothing Wednesday!

Monday- Just simple pants and a sweater. I love the Genuine Kids sweaters. Definitely a staple!
Tuesday- Layers because it was warmer in the morning and colder as the day went on. Just color and fun for this outfit.
Wednesday-Cold so a sweater over a brown shirt and a pair of jeans. Little red shoes to set it off.
Thursday- Tomorrow will be layers for warmth and just a bit of color. Probably brown shoes to tone it down a notch.
Friday- Just easy chinos and a sweatshirt. Something soft an easy. I love this one from Carters!

Hope everyone is having a nice week now that the Polar Vortex is over!

Week of Clothing Wednesday!

Week of Clothing Wednesday!

Week of Clothing Wednesday.
Monday- Super Cold here. A nice sweater from Gap. I am basically obsessed with this shirt. Some easy jeans. Just some layering so he's warm but can move.
Tuesday- We actually wore fleece jammies all day. But I hated the look when it was put together. Sammy calls my dad Papa so I loved this easy outfit.
Wednesday- Boden has some adorable shirts this season. This one is cute with some jeans to have an easy to play in outfit. I will probably get some different pants that do something more for this shirt next time. Probably the blue next time really. It needs something.
Thursday- Colored jeans and this Gap sweater. I really feel like the quality of their sweaters is amazing. And for me to say that about Gap is pretty shocking.
Friday- I love this Boden hoodie. Kind of Harry Potter. Boden is going to cost me a fortune this year. Gap mustard skinnny jeans and a Boden British look tee. Really great.
Footwear has been basic. It's cold and snowy. Bogs are still fitting the bill and are great.

Week of Clothing Wednesday!

Week of Clothing Wednesday!

Monday I did a cute little OshKosh grey sweater. I got it from Target and it's still in stock- still current lineup. Great deal. Just some Boden jeans with it.The sweater is cut well and he can move well (a nice undershirt does not hurt!)

Tuesday I just did jeans and a tee. I forgot his coat in my husband's car so it was a ordeal. I had another hoodie and a lighter fleece on him too for playtime outside- so he was kind of the Michelin kid yesterday.

Today I kind of went all out. Khakis from Old Navy (these kind of run small!) and a plaid shirt from Carters. Over that a fleece vest because it is oddly supposed to be kind of warm here today. I wanted to layer so he could take off things as he warmed up.

Tomorrow I am going to break out the Cherokee jeans. They are pretty great actually- and the price is very right. Matching that will be his Wild man Records shirt from Cherokee/Target. Of course red chucks have to go with that.

Friday will be his Gap sweatshirt with some nice pants that are warm. It is supposed to snow on Friday. We can't have great weather too long of course. He will probably have to break out his Bogs. He is not a fan of anything like that- but snow on the ground will leave us few choices.

He's been having to wear his Stride Rite shoes often due to the ankle injury. He is fine but I want to make sure he has great support. I was kind of out of love with that brand overall to be quite honest. Their quality is really amazing but their pricing really sucks.

Accessories are keeping his whole look still in the sweet little one category. And his darling face! He's precious. I feel like as we get out of the Carters sets and start getting into the separates full time- he's kind of looking just like a little boy. (He's 3- why is this a newsflash to me?!) I am using them to keep these looks a bit younger. So fun hats and mittens are key right now. And seriously fun socks - that is just my joy!

Week of Clothing Wednesday!

Week of Clothing Wednesday!

Monday I decided to dress Sammy up! I did a button up under a vest. I got this one from Thredup for about $2. I paired it with a pair of skinny jeans from Gap.
Tuesday since we were dealing with his foot issues I was glad we just had a pair of jeans with a layered tee. It was warm and easy. He started out the day in these shoes from Target, but ended up in some from Stride Rite. I like the price on the Target way better!
Wednesday it has been cold so I have this tee from Target. The version we have is layered and pretty warm and cute. I have some Carters pants with a liner and some boots. Warm socks are a must right now!
Thanksgiving! I will put Sammy in the lined camo pants my brother in law gave Sammy. That with a grey sweater and some boots. It will be adorable! (Pics to follow!)
Friday I am planning on staying in. Probably some blue pants from Carters and a graphic tee. Easy and pretty warm.
I am still really loving layered tees for Sammy. Very easy to make a statement. I have some great ones from Target and from Carters.
